I mean I could but...
I figured I would make my own list on the top items I use almost every day. Since birth and as a first time mom I love all of these items!
Breast Pads ( The cotton reusable kind )
Because the organic cotton is so soft and feels so nice on your sensitive poor abused nipples. I have organic ones and regular cotton. They are different brand but the organic ones are just over all a better quality and so soft that i want to rub them on my face! The disposable ones itch and make crinkling sounds like you're changing a pad . Also don't take off the adhesive part and accidentally stick the sticky part to your nips when your half asleep. Just plain uncomfortable. I bought 2 packs of the cotton ones and wash them with the babies clothes every time I did a load of laundry. Worked out perfect. My only regret is I wish I would have bought more!
The perfect pillow to help breast feed or prop baby up. Still currently using it for both. I co slept with Blake and he was so colicky I actually slept with the Bobby on me and him on the boppy, It was a life saver. I even used it while he was practicing sitting up on his own. Catching him when he fell over.
( no photo but an easy Google search )
Blake was colicky.. Very much so. This product is said to ease stomach discomfort ( colic ) Gas, and hiccups and apparently provides some teething relief. Guess I need to go out and buy some more. Anyway Blake was seriously thee gassiest baby ever. Also he had the hiccups since in the womb. I ended up using this magical potion several times a day. And not even have to worry because it's all natural. There are different brands, Ive tried several and they all seemed to work the same. Ingredients included fennel, ginger, chamomile, cardamom, licorice, cinnamon, clove, dill, lemon balm or peppermint, depending on the formula
Yes yes yassss. Make sure you get one that doesn't take like 5-10 minutes: mine could have a bottle warmed in 60 seconds more or less depending how many oz was waiting to cook. I pump at night when he goes to sleep save that milk and heat it up for him the next night so that hubs could bond and feed baby as well.
Medela. Is what I have . I received mine through my insurance so call and defiantly take advantage and request this one! So thankful for it and I use it EVERYDAY ! Like seriously every night before I go to bed I pump since Blake stopped nursing around the clock. So that is where the night time bottle comes in handy so that Dad can feed him sometimes too! I also bought the bottle and saver set. It's nice to be able to connect any of the Medela bottles up to the pumps makes the whole pumping situation so much easier and organized.
Since the day we brought him home he's had a bath every night. Started that way because of the colic. Now it's his routine bath, bottle and bed every night around the same time. The bath Zach got fit perfect in the tub. He loved it. I think it's served its purpose. Dad was the one giving him 90% of his baths.
Play pen ( Pack and Play )
We basically use this as his crib next to our bed because I'm back and forth on him actually sleeping in his own room in his real crib. The play pen we received came as a set and had a bassinet and changing table on top. He was in that when he fit and it really helped. Also had space to keep things organized like diapers and wipes and anything else needed. This isn't the exact one we have but we really have had a use for it.
My most favorite! I live in these things and 6 months later I still wear them especially at bed time. They have a thin liner bra ish built in. Not that supportive but it keeps he girls in place some what. And you can snap down each side just like a nursing bra and not have to worry about lifting your whole shirt up or down or exposing your stomach. Not that it matters when you are at home but I hated the cold air and feeling exposed. I'm in need of some sit ups.
Wub a nub
Love these and so damn cute and really served their purpose. The animal makes it easier to find and not misplace them. That's basically it. I feel the Paci changed Blake's latch a bit, But by the point I started using them my nips were already toughening up after all the abuse. In the womb he was sucking his thumb always and again the colic, So the pacis helped and the animal helps me keep track.
I know all babies are not the same but Blake LOVES music. At first we played the rock abye baby sound tracks for him of our personal favorites since they have renditions of almost every band. He would fall asleep to The Pixies or Smashing Pumpkins.. It would calm him down instantly or would get him in the zone. Then we moved on to the Big Block singsongs . He could be fussing then the moment I play one he's quiet. They also are music videos or sing alongs whatever you prefer to call them, But they are catchy and cheesy but cute and kinda hilarious and stick in your head. And it's totally beats those kid sing alongs with the adults and kids singing in the background. It's like Gullah Gullah island all over again, I can't do it sorry Blake!
We had a normal car mirror because when driving you just HAVE to be able to see the baby while you are driving. Check on them and what not. But this is a plus because not only does it help you see your baby but the baby is entertained by the lights in the mirror and the music it plays. It also comes with a handy dandy remote so you don't have to reach over and worry about it when it shuts off. Love it!
