I have been here a month and I can say I am SO READY. To go home.
I will be living out of a hotel room for 2 more weeks. It actually sounds worse than it really is. It is a bummer being so far from home where my belongings reside for this amount of time, But for once I get a break from household chores. When I want my room and sheets cleaned, I take the do not disturb sign off the door knob so the house keeping can clean my room, Meanwhile I take my happy ass down to the diner here in town, Where I don't have to cook or clean any dishes. Also for the time being I am gaining 50 pounds because all I am doing is stuffing my face with country food and not doing any chores..
Blake has done really well. Though I assume by now he believes that this hotel room is our new house. Could you imagine? I could never be one of those people to build a "Tiny House" And to those wanting to pursue that with a family. No way. The more I am in this room, the more appreciation I develop living in a house with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a decent size back yard. I never want to go to the apartment life again. And never hotel life. Unless its a suite with constant room service.
I miss my dogs, I miss my space and I miss eating healthy ISH food. I miss sushi! It has been a bit of a challenge trying to eat right while I am here. Sure I have had ideas. Crock pot, Hot plate. But then you need utensils or one thing to another. Then constant supervision of my one year old monster running around this room with something hot. No thanks. Adding the natural air freshening into the room of whatever concoction I am whipping up. Ugh thats a pet peeve of mine. My room smelling like my dinner for the rest of the night..
I have been so lazy with my blog. No motivation for it. I am not sure why. Maybe being here and just enjoying every moment of laziness. Though its not complete laziness. I do still shower daily and take long walks around the hotel with Blake.
We have been fortunate to do a little bit of sight seeing around the area. The national park in Ohio. Cuyahoga National Park, Was pretty gorgeous. We weren't able to hike around any trails though. Because like most obviously are not stroller friendly. Blake is a little heavy. Nearing 30 pounds. But it was beautiful. I was surprised to see homes and a small town within the park. I would move there in a minute. The same day we were able to meet up with Auntie Kelsey that because she was in he home town for a wedding.
A few little drives here and there. Blake is happiest when we are all together and it just feels the best that way.. He has turned into a daddy's boy lately I must say. He calls "da da" when he sees him in the morning. Gives dad the majority of cuddles, hugs and kisses. He gets upset when dad leaves to work.. Most importantly having the family time is amazing and I am super thankful for this and the change of scenery.
Helpful hotel life tips
The hotel had a pack and play. Blake's current bed. We asked for an extra comforter to give it some comfortable padding.
We brought a portable high chair. But the hotel has high chairs and boosters where they serve breakfast. The kitchen is free to use anytime. So things that I am able to make with fridge and microwave I do that there to make it more comfortable when we eat.
You don't have to clean!
Enjoy the break and change of scenery.
